“This one excites me because it will be the opposite of Sussurro – very bright, bouncy, colorful, but still having a tension or darkness underneath it.

I want to make a more stylized character who is running around the world collecting hundreds of animated objects that she finds cute! An animated cake with big eyes, a ladybug, a sunflower she picks, a pink frosted donut with eyes, a star straight out of the sky.

She is both obsessive and possessive – if it’s cute, she wants to keep it for herself and no one else! She’s on the phone with her ex, someone who is aware of her psychotic possessive behavior, he pleads with her, she hangs up on him.

Everything she collects is stuffed into a bag with the other items, suffocated and suffering with no space to breath. I want to explore this idea – you know when something is so cute you just want to squeeze it? Squeeze it so hard that it explodes? Or when you’re so in love with someone you almost want to slap them? It’s toxic.

By the end of the story, the main character releases all the cute little objects she’s collected, realizing they are happier where they once belonged. She realizes that picking flowers actually kills them.
